Who is Mokomoko?

Just who is this person?
Mokomoko is, of course, from the obscure anime series called Dragon Quest: Legend of Abel that premiered in Japan in late 1989, and shortly thereafter in the United States, but under the title Dragon Warrior. He's probably what you'd call a barbarian of sorts. He's a close friend of Abel, who is the main hero of the series.
Mokomoko comes from a large family with many brothers and sisters. He also has a huge insatiable appetite and an insurmountable amount of strength to boot. His own strength would help Abel and his friends in their long journey to defeat their adversary, Baramos. Mokomoko is also infatuated with Abel's closest friend, Tiala, and is quite jealous of Abel. This jealousy would factor into Mokomoko's decision to join Abel in his quest.
Why do I like him?
That is a good question. I like
Mokomoko for many reasons:
He looks very cool in his battle gear-- hey now, how many people would really look good wearing a skull on their head and wield a pair of granite clubs? No one but him would make it all look real cool.
He's got a very big appetite and is very, very strong.
His strength and contribution to Abel's group. Without Mokomoko, the group may not have advanced very far and may not have been able to seek out clues to help them on their quest to defeat Baramos. Mokomoko's penchant for accidentally uncovering secret passages and doors has made him the most vital member of the group.
He resembles another Akira Toriyama-created character, and that person he resembles is Yajirobe, of the Dragon Ball series. If I hadn't been interested in learning more about Mokomoko, or even more about Dragon Quest, I probably would not have been hooked on either anime series. Both he and Mokomoko play vital roles in their respective series in which if neither one of them were there, then the story line would not advance very far as it did with them in place.
He hasn't seemed to gain enough respect, and therefore he does deserve all the respect that he can get.
